Kalanirvana Art Center invites musicians, singers and original music creators to an intimate Open Mike session CURATED to bring fresh music to a selective, creative audience.

APPLICATICANT GUIDELINES
- Category: Music only — singers, musicians, bands/duos and original music creators.
- Original Creations Preferred: Preference will be given to original compositions, self-written songs and unique musical creations.
- Limited Selection: Only 4–5 artists will be selected for each Open Mike.
- Performance Time: Each selected artist gets 30 minutes for performance, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A/interactions.
- Quality Over Quantity: Applicants should submit their best 2–3 musical works/samples for consideration.
- Creative & Respectful Content: Performances should be suitable for a diverse, creative audience and should respect the values of Kalanirvana Art Center.
- No Guaranteed Selection: Applying does not guarantee participation. Artists will be shortlisted based on originality, creativity, musical quality and overall presentation.
- Collaboration Welcome: Experimental, fusion and collaborative musical works are encouraged, provided they have a strong creative identity.
- Audience Engagement: Artists are encouraged to briefly share the story, inspiration or idea behind their music during the Q&A.
- Final Selection: The decision of the Kalanirvana selection panel will be final.

Selection Result will be on 21st September and send selection mail / message to the slected performers.

The Open Mike Project – Kalanirvana International Art Center
Started in 2015 at Hyderabad, The Open Mike Project is one of Kalanirvana’s most loved and experimental initiatives, born through creative collaborations with cafés and restaurants—spaces where ideas breathe freely and art meets everyday life. After nurturing hundreds of emerging voices, the project now arrives in Bhubaneswar, the cultural capital of ancient Eastern India.
Rooted in the glorious legacy of Kalinga, this edition aims to revive the region’s cultural spirit in a contemporary, inclusive, and cross-disciplinary format. BOM , The Open Mike Project is Kalanirvana’s humble yet powerful attempt to create a democratic platform where creativity speaks without hierarchy, and talent finds an audience beyond galleries and auditoriums.

Format: Live Open Mike sessions
Venue: Kalanirvana International Art Gallery, GA 196, GA Colony, Bhartpur, Bhubaneswar
Time : 5 - 8 pm [ Last Sunday of each month ]
Duration: 10-15 minutes per participant + 15 Minutes Question and Answer (varies by art form)
Frequency: Monthly / curated editions [ EVERY MONTH , LAST SUNDAY ]
Audience: Open to art lovers, collectors, students, and cultural enthusiasts
Guests : Each participants can Invite Maximum 10 guests for the Event.
Rules & Regulations
Age Limit : 18 - 45 [ We can consider above 45 in exceptional case ]
Application Fee : Rs 300 per participants to be paid to BOM during the application.
- Original work only; plagiarism will lead to disqualification
Content must respect cultural, social, and ethical sensibilities
Artists must adhere to allotted time limits
Kalanirvana reserves the right to curate or edit the program flow
Participation certificate provided; selected artists may receive future opportunities

The first Odia to be in, 'BIG BOSS'. Sabyasachi is a stylist and a fashion designer with 30+ yeras of experience in Bollywood and presently working on sustanability and environment friendly textiles; owns Odisha's Avantgrade fashion house, 'Keembdanti'.
Artist, Writer and Media personality in Odisha and a cultural activist of modern Odisha. He Ha 25 years of experience in various aspects of Odia Art and cultur.
An intellectual artist, art resercher and thinker. He is a columnist in contemporary art in Odisha. He has written books on art and presently a professor in B.K. College of Art n Craft.
Geet GPT is one of the emerging talent of Odia Music industry and working with leading ODIYA Music directors and Studios, She writes, compose and sing and very original and have her own style.
Satya Padhi having more than 15 years of animation working with leading global production houses like cartoon netwrok, disney, DQ. He is artist by heart and animator by profession now curating Lalitkala Art Gallery, Puri.
An award-winning Indo-Canadian film director, producer, author, and founder of Nikisar Inc. and Myiesha Inc. Her films draw from realism and lived experiences, identity, resilience, mental health, and social justice through an authentic cinematic voice.

An engineer turned Artist, she is a multi talented artist with photography, fashion jwellery and writing are her forte . She is part of the Kalanirvana Internationl Art Center : KIAR and Chief coordinator and takes care of the smooth running of the Center.
The man behind the Bhubaneswar Open Mike : BOM; an artist, film maker with 15 years of Animation & Film Making and an international curator with 20 Years of experience in Global Art. An art innovator and mentor, Director or KIAR and one of the first founder of Open Mike concept in India in 2012.
EXPERT Advisers
Ananda Pahi is an inspiring and visionary figure in Odia literature; especially in drama and story writting. 3 Times National and many state awards for Drama and Story writting. A wellknown face in Odia Literature with 50 years of experience .
Director, film maker and a social worker. He has produced and directed a number of national and international award winning films. Also have directed the film 'MIND GAME' based on true story of Odisha.
An accomplished filmmaker and cultural documentarian. Deeply connected to Odisha’s cultural heritage with film and television as a medium and is best remembered for directing 'Ajira Orissa'. Biren Das was also a founding trustee of the JD Centre of Art and Film Festival .
