The Open Mike Project – Kalanirvana International Art Center
Started in 2015 at Hyderabad, The Open Mike Project is one of Kalanirvana’s most loved and experimental initiatives, born through creative collaborations with cafés and restaurants—spaces where ideas breathe freely and art meets everyday life. After nurturing hundreds of emerging voices, the project now arrives in Bhubaneswar, the cultural capital of ancient Eastern India.
Rooted in the glorious legacy of Kalinga, this edition aims to revive the region’s cultural spirit in a contemporary, inclusive, and cross-disciplinary format. BOM , The Open Mike Project is Kalanirvana’s humble yet powerful attempt to create a democratic platform where creativity speaks without hierarchy, and talent finds an audience beyond galleries and auditoriums.

Program Details
Format: Live Open Mike sessions
Venue: Kalanirvana International Art Gallery, GA 196, GA Colony, Bhartpur, Bhubaneswar
Time : 5 - 8 pm [ Last Sunday of each month ]
Duration: 10-15 minutes per participant + 15 Minutes Question and Answer (varies by art form)
Frequency: Monthly / curated editions [ EVERY MONTH , LAST SUNDAY ]
Audience: Open to art lovers, collectors, students, and cultural enthusiasts
Guests : Each participants can Invite Maximum 10 guests for the Event.
Rules & Regulations
Age Limit : 18 - 45 [ We can consider above 45 in exceptional case ]
Application Fee : Rs 300 per participants to be paid to BOM during the application.
- Original work only; plagiarism will lead to disqualification
Content must respect cultural, social, and ethical sensibilities
Artists must adhere to allotted time limits
Kalanirvana reserves the right to curate or edit the program flow
Participation certificate provided; selected artists may receive future opportunities

The man behind the Bhubaneswar Open Mike : BOM; an artist, film maker with 15 years of Animation & Film Making and an international curator with 20 Years of experience in Global Art. An art innovator and mentor, Director or KIAR and one of the first founder of Open Mike concept in India in 2012.
